Welcome to Broken Sky Kennels

This family owned business is the result of a father and son’s love of all things hunting and dogs.  The Todd family has been hunting for generations and in 2000 added Cisco, their first AKC Golden Retriever hunting dog.  With the focus on superior blood lines and champion hunting titles, dogs from Broken Sky Kennels will make excellent companions, hunting dogs or hunt/field test dogs.

Broken Sky Kennels is owned and operated by Tracy Todd with a lot of help coming from his son Nicolis.  Tracy bought his first Golden retriever eight years ago and has always been pleased with him.  Three years ago Tracy and Nicolis attended the Panhandle Hunt Test and became interested in running their dogs in a HRC Test and have been hooked ever since.  After looking for the right dog they purchased Emma, a Golden, as a puppy from Flatlander Kennels. Nicolis followed up shortly afterwards by bringing home two female Black Labrador Retrievers, Jade and Sassy. Tracy and Nic are both members of the HRC organization and are looking forward to another year of attending hunt tests in the region.  Nic is currently employed by Regional Pro Chris Jobman of Flatlander Kennels and is learning how to train dogs starting with basic obedience and working towards more advanced levels.

Broken Sky Kennels - breeding superior hunting dogs and companions. Dogs from Broken Sky Kennels will make excellent companions, hunting buddies or hunt/field test dogs.

Our goal at Broken Sky Kennels is to have an honest working relationship with our customers and to produce dogs that will bring happiness and satisfaction to their owners.  We are developing a solid dog breeding program where health care is as important as performance.  We want to ensure that our dogs become good companions, good working dogs that perform in the field, good hunting dogs or good athletes that desire competition.  This type of program will take time to build but we believe the effort of improving and producing top bloodlines will be worth it.   Whether the dog competes in hunt tests or is for companionship, the quality and bloodline will be there.

Breeding Forecast:

We are planning to breed our Golden Retriever (Emma) in December 2008 followed up in the spring of 2009 with one of our black labs depending on how well the dogs finish during this year's hunt test schedule.
